In the prestigious magazine ‘’Environments’’, which is indexed in Web of Science and SCOPUS, on 14.05.2025 was published the scientific research of the Professor of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Antigona Ukëhaxhaj, with the title ‘’Ambient Air Quality and Hospital Admissions in Gjakova: A Time Series Analysis’’, a magazine ranked in Q1, and the first research done as time-series study.

With the aim of academic increase, quality in teaching, and scientific-research aspect, this is the first study in the field which has been conducted during Bachelor with the help of the student Rita Xhiha from the Public Health Program, who was under the mentorship of the Professor, and who has gathered the data of the respiratory diseases for the four-year period in the General Hospital ‘’Isa Grezda’’.

Likewise, in the co-author quality are also the full-time staff of the Faculty of Medicine, and the Professor from the University of Vienna, Faculty of Medicine, who has a long professional expertise in environment, and for some years he has already had many collaborations with Professor Antigona in the environmental issues in Kosovo, as a priority in the Public Health in our country.
