Health Care in Community
IN THE PROCESS OF ACCREDITATION
This program aims to provide community health care services by ensuring personalized quality care for individuals and populations in their living environments, particularly for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, people with chronic diseases, persons with disabilities, and others with diverse community needs. The objective of this program is to improve quality of life, promote disease prevention, and reduce the burden on outpatient and hospital health care systems.
The program includes regular home visits by trained nurses, the provision of health education and promotion, the delivery of health care services, monitoring of the health status of the community population, as well as support in managing chronic diseases and improving quality of life.The program aims to strengthen community health care by ensuring equitable and inclusive access to health services, in line with WHO recommendations on per capita health services. The main objective of the community health care program is to ensure equitable, continuous, and high-quality access to health services for individuals and families in their living environments, with particular emphasis on disease prevention, health education and promotion, and disease management.
Upon earning a Bachelor’s degree, students in the Community Health Care Program will have the competencies to:
Analyse the structure, functioning, and challenges of the healthcare system in Kosovo and globally.
Implement effective strategies for health education of individuals, families, and communities.
Communicate professionally and interactively with patients, family members, and members of the interprofessional healthcare team.
Collaborate and contribute as an active and strategic member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Evaluate scientific literature and use it to improve healthcare practice in communities.
Develop professional attitudes and behaviours, including ethics, integrity, and leadership skills in the field of healthcare.
Promote a professional culture that supports innovation, ethics, change, and teamwork in various healthcare settings.
Apply knowledge of healthcare systems to provide quality, comprehensive, and patient- and community-cantered care.
Build and maintain effective relationships with institutions and communities to promote and improve public health.
Design and implement programs for social justice and equitable access to healthcare services.
Assess and incorporate cultural diversity and intercultural exchange in the delivery of healthcare.
Plan and implement interventions for monitoring, improving, and supervising community health.
Identify and analyse community health needs to guide service planning.
Implement measures to improve safety and reduce physical and environmental health hazards.
Monitoring and manage risk factors for infectious and non-communicable diseases at the community level.
