In a solemn ceremony which took place in the premises of the University of Prishtina ‘’Hasan Prishtina’’, the University ‘’Fehmi Agani’’ in Gjakova has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the consortium of NanoKos project, a research initiative funded by the European Union Office in Kosovo.

This project is realized in cooperation with some of the most prestigious European Universities, including King’s College London, the University of Milano, the University of Parma and University of Prishtina, bringing upon a new scientific excellence standard and academic internationalization.

In regards to this partnership, the rector of the University ‘’Fehmi Agani’’, Mr. Drilon Bunjaku has signed a Memorandum of Understanding which foresees the development of the advanced projects in the nanoscience and environmental field. Meanwhile, Assistant Vllaznim Mula has been appointed the Main Head of the Project (Principal Investigator) for a new research initiative that is supported financially from the European Union.

Project, by title:

"Assessment of Volatile Organic Compounds in Indoor and Outdoor Air of Prishtina, Kosovo: A Comparative Study with Carbon Nano-adsorbents and Health Risk Evaluation",

Brings an innovator approach which mingles nanotechnology, environmental Nano-toxicology, Nano-medicine and the scientific data modelling. This initiative places the University ‘’Fehmi Agani’’ in Gjakova in the frontline of the interdisciplinary contemporary research.

The main purpose of the project is to analyse the dangerous organic air components (VOCs) in the internal and external spaces in the city of Prishtina, utilizing Nano-adsorbents with carbonic base, and assessing the potential threats for the public health. This integrated approach indicates the power of synergy between the scientific research and technological innovation in addressing environmental global health challenges.

This success demonstrates a clear proof of the increase of capacities of the University ‘’Fehmi Agani’’ in Gjakova in the field of scientific research, as well as its commitment on being a leader of academic development in the 21^st century. The University is being consolidated as an important actor in the European and international academic map, contributing thus directly in the advancement of knowledge, stimulation of innovation, and strengthening of the international cooperation.
