Panel discussion on the importance of prenatal and neonatal screening
The Faculty of Medicine, in collaboration with the Student Parliament and the Student Council, organized a panel discussion on the topic: “The Importance of Prenatal and Neonatal Screening for Early Diagnosis of Congenital Heart Anomalies” on 24.03.2026. The activity was held at the premises of the Faculty of Medicine and was characterized by a wide participation of students, academic staff and guests. The main speaker of the panel was Prof. Dr. Ramush Bejiqi, who presented in a clear and professional manner the importance of early diagnosis of congenital heart anomalies through prenatal and neonatal screening.
The panel was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Haxhi Kamberi, as well as Prof. Assoc. Dr. Faton Hoxha and Prof. Assoc. Dr. Faton Krasniqi, who contributed with professional discussions and exchange of experiences in this field. Also part of the activity were Prof. Assoc. Dr. Malvina Hoxha and Dr. Sci. Enkeleda Gjini from the Catholic University “Zoja e Kështil të Mirë” in Tirana, who in their speech discussed the cooperation between the University “Zoja e Kështil të Mirë” and the University “Fehmi Agani” in the project for infantile cerebral palsy, as well as for prenatal and neonatal screening in Albania.
Within the framework of this panel, at the end of the activity, an interactive quiz was also organized for the students, where three of them were awarded for the best achievements. At the end of the activity, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the panelists and guests, in appreciation for their contribution.
