Professor Prof. Assoc. Dr. Kimete Canaj participated in the General Conference of the COST ENEOLI project, which was held on 28 and 29 May 2026 at the Faculty of Arts - Charles Univesity, Prague, where over 200 participants from various European Universities gathered.

At this conference, neologisms in European languages ​​and their impact on society were widely discussed, focusing on their role in communication, culture and democratic development.

Professor Canaj presented the lecture entitled: “Weaponized Word: Metaphorical Neologisms in Disinformation and Hate Speech”, where she emphasized how metaphorical neologisms are often used as powerful tools for the spread of hate speech and disinformation, influencing social perceptions and increasing polarization.

This contribution by Professors Canaj reflects the university’s engagement in European research networks and affirms its role as an important academic center in the study of language, communication and epistemic security.
