Under the leadership of the Rector of the University "Fehmi Agani" in Gjakova, Drilon Bunjaku, a regular Senate meeting was held on July 24, 2024. Initially, with the consent of all senators, the second item on the agenda, which involved the approval of proposals from review committees of academic units for appointments, reappointments, and promotions of staff, was removed. Following the approval of the agenda, the minutes from previous meetings were confirmed.

The Senate then proceeded to discuss the third item on the agenda, which was the approval of requests from academic units related to applications for new programs. Since the deadline for accreditation/re-accreditation applications to the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (AKA) expires on July 31, the Faculty of Education proposed the accreditation of five new programs and the re-accreditation of one existing program. Notably, the program presented by the Faculty of Education, "Development, Well-being, and Health in Childhood," with 180 ECTS, was designated as part of three academic units by the Strategic Planning Working Group for the accreditation process for the 2024/2025 academic year. Additionally, the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Philology also proposed several programs for accreditation. The Faculty of Applied Sciences proposed two new programs for accreditation, with the program “Bachelor of Engineering in Informatics” being highlighted by Rector Bunjaku as particularly significant based on market needs.

Next, the fourth item on the agenda involved the decision regarding the extension of contracts for regular academic staff whose contracts expire by September 30, 2024, and their declaration in e-accreditation. The Quality Assurance Office requested a prompt declaration on this matter.

The fifth item on the agenda was the review of the Ethics Council's decision concerning the suspended management course at the Faculty of Philology. After discussions led by Rector Bunjaku and other members, the senators, by a majority vote, requested the Ethics Council to complete and justify this decision with all supporting documentation within 15 days.

In the sixth item, it was decided that the academic staff of UFAGJ will have collective leave from August 5 to August 30. Meanwhile, the request by Prof. Ass. Mimoza Kurshumlija for the reinstatement of the Associate Professor title was deferred to the next meeting.

The Faculty of Social Sciences announced the good news of the re-accreditation of the program “Social Care and Welfare” (BA-180 ECTS); This program is expected to admit 70 students, with the admission competition opening at the end of August and the entrance exam scheduled for September 3.

In conclusion, the Faculty of Philology requested the opening of a competition for the appointment, reappointment, and promotion of academic staff for several positions. This request was decided to be reviewed in future Senate meetings after the review of positions for the competition by the Faculty Council of Philology.

During the meeting, several other important issues for the university were discussed, ensuring continuous progress in the academic and administrative development of the institution.
