As part of Diabetes Week, today at the Diabetic Foot Center at the Faculty of Medicine, a training session for faculty students on diabetic foot care was held
The training is being carried out by the Faculty of Medicine, Alumni and Student Parliament. Today, the student training was held by the co-founder of the Diabetic Foot Unit at UFAGJ, MA. Lirigezon Goçaj. This training aims to prepare students for the provision of healthcare, assessing patients with diabetes for the risk of diabetic foot, measuring vital signs, HbA1c, neurological examination of the foot and vice versa. This activity was undertaken by the Chair of the Faculty of Medicine, Ajshe Ukshini, and the Chair of the Student Parliament, Besmir Pepshi, with the aim of students being more deeply involved in clinical practice and in the provision of services to the community.
The activity is being developed with the support of the Dean, Prof. Dr. Haxhi Kamberi, the founder of the Diabetic Foot Center, Prof. Dr. Antigona Ukehaxhaj, and the Vice-Dean, Prof. Hasime Terziqi. This training is an important step towards the full functionality of the Diabetic Foot Center and the professional development of students, making the Faculty of Medicine of UFAGJ an active space of practical education and service to the community."
