Development of Practical Skills Through a Visit to the Regional Public Health Center
Students of the Public Health program, under the guidance and supervision of Ass. Muhamet Kadrija, carried out a practical activity at the Regional Public Health Center in Gjakova as part of the Microbiology course. This activity aimed to strengthen practical knowledge through direct experience in a professional environment.
During the visit, students became closely familiar with laboratory procedures, including sample collection, inoculation on culture media, staining processes, as well as determining antibiotic susceptibility and performing antibiograms using contemporary laboratory methods. An important part of the activity was also the practical use of both light and electronic microscopes, under the guidance of healthcare professionals.
This activity significantly contributed to the development of students’ practical skills and deepened their understanding of microbiological processes, better preparing them for future professional challenges.
During the activity, the students were also welcomed and accompanied by the director of the Regional Public Health Center in Gjakova, Dr. Safete Kamberi, a microbiologist.
