The Faculty of Medicine reported on the progress of the project 'Hate Speech - Democracy and Youth'

Prof. Assoc. Dr. Kimete Canaj, coordinator of the project “Hate Speech – Democracy and Youth”, together with professors, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Artan Nimani, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Renata Tokrri, Prof. Dr. Sokol Pacukaj and Prof. Eva Teqja from the “Alexander Moisiu” University of Durrës and the University of Tirana held a working meeting with the dean at the Faculty of Medicine, where the report on the progress of the project “Hate Speech – Democracy and Youth” was presented.

The project aims to raise awareness among students about the impact of hate speech and bullying on academic and social life, as well as their role in protecting democratic values.

During the meeting, the questionnaire prepared for students was discussed, which will serve as a research instrument to collect data on their experiences and perceptions. It was decided to distribute the questionnaire widely, including students from several study programs, with the aim of creating a reliable and comprehensive database.

Following this, an open discussion was organized with students on the phenomenon of bullying and hate speech, where they shared their thoughts on ways of prevention and the importance of respect and tolerance in academic environments. An important part of the meeting was also dedicated to planning the publication of the results of the questionnaire in international scientific journals, aiming for the findings to contribute to the academic literature on communication, democracy, education and youth.

This activity reinforces the commitment of the Faculty of Medicine to promote scientific research and the active involvement of students in issues of social and academic importance.
